Today was a day for charity shop shopping. My friend Sam who is both a charm and a delight wanted to check out some local charity shops so he requested a day for us to do so. So we set out this morning about an hour late due to my rubbish time keeping and ability to pull myself out of bed. As I was running a bath, Sam pulled up outside my house. I was going to rush but he was kind enough to allow me the time to get ready at a leisurely pace. I had a wish-wash, chucked on some threads, put on some slap and clipped in some extra hair and off we went.
Upon inspection at our first stop off town, 'West Wickham' - there didn't appear to be much on offer which I think may have disheartened Sam until I convinced him to buy an adidas jumper and a silk scarf. I have a pretty strong feeling the woman serving us thought the scarf was a present for me from my "boyfriend". (Sam is not in fact my lover and if he was I would be insulted that he would "treat" me to a charity shop silk scarf. - not really, I am broke so I take what I can get on the present front!) As she looked at me and enquired if I would like a bag. Sam replied, "no" rather bluntly. I think she understood then, that he was insulted by her poor misasumption.
Off we then went on our travels to the next destination, 'Wallington'. Sam managed to obtain a pretty amazing green xmas jumper with - what im convinced is- a man bumming a reindeer, on it. He also bought a Shrek DVD and a rather ace mario top (not the R&B sensation. The pixel dude). I stumbled across some white curtain netting which is good since I have taken up clothes making since getting a sewing machine for christmas :) Gonna make a pretty swish dress out of that ;) Where was I? Oh yeh... We then handed the items over to the elderly man behind the counter who held up the reindeer jumper and anounced to us that the jumper was, "a very festive jumper" : We both held our tongues and nodded politely. Upon leaving the vacinity we both, naturally giggled like two morons. After having to turn around in an unsutble manner due to walking in the wrong direction, and after being concerned about men shouting at builders... we headed to sainsburys, bought some panda liqourice, crisps, sammich and a choco eclair ^_^, sat in the car, in the carpark and watched a DVD. Quite the high life.
Onto our final terminal, 'Banstead'. We were very almost dismayed at the lack of charity shops, until we stumbled upon several. HOORAY! I managed to squalor some lovely brown ankle boots with sheepswool rims and a massive mens woollen jumper and Sam found a nice paschmina-ey type scarf :) It was then that we headed back to Selsdon.
Sam then dropped me home after what I can only describe to be a great success of a day. I got in, went on the laptop and did some online shopping at Asos which is always a cheeky treat. I then decided to see my good pal Stephanie whom lives but 1 house away from me, as she is leaving me for another 2 months to go off to Uni for another term of her 3 year ....... course. I do miss her terribly when she goes, but absense makes the heart grow fonder as they say! ^_^
Now I am back home, chewing on the skin around my fingernails and lying in bed next to the love of my life thinking, 'Isn't life grand' ^_^
Up early tomorow for a bit of education-ish. So at 1:36am I am off to a peaceful nights sleep and to only hope that tomorow brings me a day as good as this one has been.
Ciao xxx
